About the trip

For your Safety… Freeriding, deep powder snow, touring – they’re the greatest fun, but they also bring with them potential danger!

This one-day avalanche training course provides you with the basic knowledge you need when going off-piste through both theory and practice. The information and the course are suitable for all levels.

Learn to read the terrain and be aware of snow conditions, including which types of avalanche are particularly dangerous and how to avoid them where possible.

You will also have first-hand practice with an avalanche beacons – let’s hope you’ll never need to use one in ernest! Beacons will be provided, but if you have your own equipment do bring it.

The theory will be delivered indoors, and the practical part of the training will be outside. Please dress comfortably and for the weather.

It will be held at Cronberger Anlage No. 13, the same location as the AGM. This can be found via car at the Sat Nav address Alkmenestrasse 60, where parking behind the gardens should be no problem, or take the Strassenbahn line 18 towards Gravensteiner Platz and get off at the stop Alkmenestrasse. It is around a three minute walk from there up the hill. The entrance is at the Kleingartenverein, behind the public playground at the corner of Herrenapfelstrasse and Alkmenstrasse 60.
