We like to think the club is a social club for like-minded people – that enjoy living their lives to the full – so if you have interests or hear about an activity that you think some other member may like to know about, here is where you can find out about it.
We'll endeavour to keep things up-to-date or just check us out on Facebook.
Dear Club Members,
it has been just one of those seasons that you just can't plan; however what is certain is that easter is just around the corner and we hope that you will be able to enjoy whatever is allowed during these strange times.
On behalf of all on the board we wish you all a pleasant and healthy Easter break.
Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus restrictions and recommendations we are not able to run any of our planned trips at the moment. Keep checking our website for further developments. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at trips@fscev.org.
We look forward to catching up with many of you at the next virtual social and until then we wish you all the best and please stay safe!
Your FSC e.V. Board
It was good to see a great group continuing the tradition and getting into the spirit of the Oktoberfest. Hopefully sometime soon we will all be able to "Maß" (pun) together and say Prost!
The right slope awaits no matter what your ability level; deep-snow and mogul runs, carving hills and freerides, along with family runs, bring all the variety to your ski vacation you could possibly wish for.
We were so excited to see many of you at our 2020/2021 Season Opening BBQ Party! Sorry to thouse who could not join due to number restrictions etc.
Here's what you missed:
During the current coronavirus pandemic the club will have to react appropriately to changes in regulations and conditions. Any member who signs up trips will be entitled to free cancellation if the destination is deemed to be in a risk area at the time of trip departure (unless you are otherwise informed).
We hope that our Wednesday Socials will commence forthwith. Covid-19 restrictions in place for each event at that time will be applied and details will be announced nearer to the time. We are constantly researching whether it is practical to host winter socials this season and we will keep you posted on this point.
The Rotair rotating gondola will carry you to the glacier for knock-out views and often powdery high altitude runs. For a real thrill ride, try the steep descent down from the glacier – or return on the gondola if courage escapes you.
Fully equipped and trained experts will enjoy the off-piste Laub, a powder bowl with a 1120 m vertical drop. The ski club recommends hiring a local professional guide when going off-piste.
Some FSCers take their winter sports more seriously than others do. Such dedicated people are know around Frankfurt (and other regions of the world) as "SKIBUMS".
You too can become a SKIBUM. It’s quite simple, albeit a tad pricey. Anyone who participates in FSC trips totalling a given number of days or more during the current season becomes a SKIBUM, receiving a specially designed t-shirt of recognition (arguably the most expensive ‘freebie’ in the world). It’s our little way of thanking dedicated FSC members for the time (and money) they invested in their favourite pastime.
Here are a few old favourite locations from past seasons for your viewing pleasure.
