We have almost made it through January and while some of us have been hibernating, many of you were able to kick-off the year with a fantastic trip to St. Anton! The weekend was an outstanding success with our lucky trippers enjoying fresh snow, uncrowded après-ski and even sightings of royalty!
Come along and join our social this Wednesday at Waxy's and hear all about the fun that was had in St. Anton! You might even want to take the opportunity to sign-up for one of our upcoming trips whilst you are there.
Kitzbühel is full but please contact the TC if you would like to get on the waitlist in case a spot becomes availible. Alternatively, you could ride with the club on the bus and book your own accommodation there. We still have some spaces on our bus trips to Engelberg, Laax, and Val Thorens, and our u-drive/u-train trips to Bad Hofgastein and Zermatt. We are still waiting for details about Ischgl but will get them to you as soon as we can.
the weekend, which has steadily become one of our favourite two-day destinations with its snow-sure glacier and its proximity to Frankfurt. Here we will stay in resort.
Engelberg is the nearest resort in our programme and this fantastic trip is selling out fast, so please book your spot to avoid disappointment! Bad Hofgastein is in a great ski area and we stay at an excellent hotel. We are looking into organising a vehicle for transport, while it is also easily accessible by train. It’s the last chance this season to ski Austria with the club before Ischgl and it is great value at just €295. Laax is well-known for its vast ski area and outstanding skiing, while Zermatt is the quintessential alpine destination where you can enjoy great skiing and a tasty lunch in Italy! Val Thorens is usually the jewel in the crown of our season – sign up by Feb 2nd to get the Early Sign-up price.
Please don’t forget for the bus rides to Kitzbühel, Engelberg and Laax you need to be fully vaccinated or immune and you need to take an antigen test within 24 hours of departure or a PCR within 48 hours.
In addition, if you’re planning to join us at the social, please refer to the current guidelines with regard to the Covid situation and requirements for gastronomy beforehand.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
Your FSC e.V. Board
It was good to see a great group continuing the tradition and getting into the spirit of the Oktoberfest. Hopefully sometime soon we will all be able to "Maß" (pun) together and say Prost!
The right slope awaits no matter what your ability level; deep-snow and mogul runs, carving hills and freerides, along with family runs, bring all the variety to your ski vacation you could possibly wish for.
We were so excited to see many of you at our 2020/2021 Season Opening BBQ Party! Sorry to thouse who could not join due to number restrictions etc.
Here's what you missed:
During the current coronavirus pandemic the club will have to react appropriately to changes in regulations and conditions. Any member who signs up trips will be entitled to free cancellation if the destination is deemed to be in a risk area at the time of trip departure (unless you are otherwise informed).
We hope that our Wednesday Socials will commence forthwith. Covid-19 restrictions in place for each event at that time will be applied and details will be announced nearer to the time. We are constantly researching whether it is practical to host winter socials this season and we will keep you posted on this point.
As always we strive to have a good balance of short and longer trips, value and comfort, favourite and new destinations, early and late departures.
