It’s a great shame about the Covid situation in Austria and we are of course hoping that the lockdown there and the German travel warning to Austria will be relieved in time for our trips to St. Veit, St. Anton, Kitzbühel and Bad Hofgastein.
The good news is it is snowing in the Alps in anticipation of our return and we are of course still allowed to meet up in Frankfurt, so please join us this Wednesday at Waxy’s for our festive St. Nikolaus Social!
Our St. Anton trip has filled up very fast but there are still a few places left, so please hurry if you would like to get on to this classic trip to Austria’s best-rated ski region.
Our trip to the world-renowned resort of Kitzbühel is an experience not to miss. We stay on the less crowded Pass Thurn side and there is plenty of great skiing to explore in this extensive area. Don’t miss the opportunity to ski, or at least see, that Hahnenkamm (“Streif”) – the steepest world cup run. Please sign up quickly to help us commit to this great value trip.
Our upcoming trip to Bad Hofgastein gives a great opportunity to explore the wonderful skiing in the Gastein valley.
Contact our TC Jesse if you want more information on the Siegi Tours Christmas and New Year trips based in St. Veit, skiing the huge Ski Amade region. This trip provides great value with a fantastic opportunity to take lessons/guiding while it is easily accessible from Frankfurt by train. The dates for this trip are customisable and are available throughout the season.
Switzerland is not in lockdown and we still have some places on our December weekend trip to Davos (skipass included), where it is snowing nicely in preparation for our visit. The Club Med trip to St. Moritz is WAITLISTED. Engelberg in February is a classic weekend ski trip and is also our nearest resort. And of course we have Laax to look forward to in March.
The season will conclude with three great trips – the annual week long self-catering ski-in ski out to the Alps’ best ski areas Val Thorens, a 3 day trip to the world-famous Zermatt and a weekend in Ischgl (with details to come).
Covid rules: All FSC trips are at least "3G" – you must be fully vaccinated, immune, or tested. Proof is required. Antigen (maximum 24 hours before trip) or PCR tests (maximum 48 hours) are accepted. Bus Trips are 2G. In addition, we must comply with hotel and resort regulations. As cases rise more restrictions are being imposed and many places are now 2G. Please check travel regulations prior to travel.
Cancellation costs: In general, if a trip is effectively cancelled because of Covid restrictions there will be a full refund or voucher. If a member has to cancel because of Covid or because there is a switch from 3G to 2G FSCeV will not charge cancellation fees but it will be obliged to pass on fees incurred by the club on behalf of the member.
See you Wednesday!
Your FSC e.V. Board
It was good to see a great group continuing the tradition and getting into the spirit of the Oktoberfest. Hopefully sometime soon we will all be able to "Maß" (pun) together and say Prost!
The right slope awaits no matter what your ability level; deep-snow and mogul runs, carving hills and freerides, along with family runs, bring all the variety to your ski vacation you could possibly wish for.
We were so excited to see many of you at our 2020/2021 Season Opening BBQ Party! Sorry to thouse who could not join due to number restrictions etc.
Here's what you missed:
During the current coronavirus pandemic the club will have to react appropriately to changes in regulations and conditions. Any member who signs up trips will be entitled to free cancellation if the destination is deemed to be in a risk area at the time of trip departure (unless you are otherwise informed).
We hope that our Wednesday Socials will commence forthwith. Covid-19 restrictions in place for each event at that time will be applied and details will be announced nearer to the time. We are constantly researching whether it is practical to host winter socials this season and we will keep you posted on this point.
As always we strive to have a good balance of short and longer trips, value and comfort, favourite and new destinations, early and late departures.
