We hope you have all been enjoying the golden Autumn so far and are getting excited about the prospect of colder weather and snowy slopes! We hope to see you all this Wednesday for a good catch-up at another live social. As before, we will be at Waxy's in a specially reserved area for the ski club to ensure the highest level of safety for our members. Waxy's are currently asking visitors to abide by the standard 3G rules, so please make sure to bring your vaccine passes, negative test results or proof of recovery. As always please feel free to bring along your colleagues3, friends and neighbours!
On Sunday the 10th we had an excellent start to our programme with the Avalanche Awareness Course. Thanks Roland for your expert tuition and to Melinda for great organisation.
It is still possible to sign up for our November trip to the glacier resort of Sölden with our partners Sport 65. There is an option to go by bus from the shop in Weinheim, departure time 15:00. There is a 7% discount for ski club members. Note that 2G rules apply on this trip - you must be vaccinated or recovered.
Our great value early season weekend in the world-famous resort of Davos is not one to be missed. This takes place from the 10-12 December and your skipass is included in the price. Deutsche Bahn has opened the winter programme with some very good fares available.
At this social you can sign up for all of our trips up to and including Zermatt in April. This season we will be staying in many of the top resorts in the Alps including Sölden, Davos, St. Moritz, St. Anton, Kitzbühel, Engelberg, Bad Hofgastein, Laax/Flims, and Val Thorens. There's no better way to experience the vast skiing opportunities in the Alps together with new friends!
We look forward to seeing you all soon at a social!
All the best,
Your FSC e.V. Board
It was good to see a great group continuing the tradition and getting into the spirit of the Oktoberfest. Hopefully sometime soon we will all be able to "Maß" (pun) together and say Prost!
The right slope awaits no matter what your ability level; deep-snow and mogul runs, carving hills and freerides, along with family runs, bring all the variety to your ski vacation you could possibly wish for.
We were so excited to see many of you at our 2020/2021 Season Opening BBQ Party! Sorry to thouse who could not join due to number restrictions etc.
Here's what you missed:
During the current coronavirus pandemic the club will have to react appropriately to changes in regulations and conditions. Any member who signs up trips will be entitled to free cancellation if the destination is deemed to be in a risk area at the time of trip departure (unless you are otherwise informed).
We hope that our Wednesday Socials will commence forthwith. Covid-19 restrictions in place for each event at that time will be applied and details will be announced nearer to the time. We are constantly researching whether it is practical to host winter socials this season and we will keep you posted on this point.
As always we strive to have a good balance of short and longer trips, value and comfort, favourite and new destinations, early and late departures.
