You don't want to miss out on the mountains in summer!
Join our excursion to Markgräflerland near the Black Forest for a weekend of hiking and wine-tasting. We have shared and singles rooms in the Hotel ALTES SPITAL in Müllheim – heart of the Markgräflerland.
Arrival on Friday optional either in the early afternoon or in the evening. For the early birds we offer a crémant tasting in a tiny village nearby at Sekthandwerk Hotz before we have an optional à-la-carte dinner in Ristorante & Pinseria Da Lulu in Vögisheim at 7:30pm.
On Saturday we enjoy a nice breakfast and then start off for a mountain hike, lasting approx. 4-5 hours, approx. 450 meters in altitude. The hills, lakes and forests along the Black Forest trail route offer many beautiful views and 2-3 refreshment spots along the way. If you’re brave enough, bring along your bathing suit for a splash in a karst lake!
At 5:00pm there will be an optional wine-tasting at local winery Weingut Engler, lasting about 120 minutes. Afterwards there is an optional à-la-carte dinner in the restaurant ALTES SPITAL at 7:30pm.
After breakfast on Sunday, we’ll explore the beautiful area of the Markgräflerland vineyards. This hike will be a shorter and less strenuous than the one on Saturday. Depending on the planned return journey, we will plan a tour that takes 3-4 hours and might end with a stop at a local Besenwirtschaft.
You should be sure-footed and in good physical condition for the hikes. The walking speed will be moderate with plenty of breaks to drink and take photos. In case of very bad weather we will explore short-notice alternatives like visiting Basel or the Thermal bath in Badenweiler.
