Kick off the season with an early-winter glacier getaway to Hintertux! As Austria’s only year-round ski area, this glacier delivers reliably snowy slopes from 1,500 m up to 3,250 m, making it a standout destination in late November. With 64 km of groomed terrain – from sweeping blue runs to long, exhilarating reds and a handful of challenging black pistes – it promises fun for every level. Freestyle fans will love the Betterpark and Familypark, one of the few terrain parks open in autumn. One of the most scenic highlights: ride the Gletscherbus 3 – the world’s highest funitel (a double-cable gondola, extra stable in windy conditions) – to enjoy incredible alpine views and even visit the Nature Ice Palace, a glacier cave just beneath the lift station. Hintertux sets the tone for the season – great snow, great company, and yes, the powder looks tempting… but please, only chase it with a guide! There will be crevasses out there!
