You don't need to wait for winter to enjoy the mountains!
Join our excursion to Cochem on the Mosel for a weekend of hiking and wine-tasting. We have shared rooms in the Hotel Karl-Müller (link) and singles in the nearby Hotel Cochemer Jung (link).
Upon arrival Friday evening there will be an optional à la carte dinner in a nearby restaurant at 7:30.
On Saturday, after an extensive breakfast buffet (in the respective hotel), we will meet for a vigorous hike together, lasting approx. 5-6 hours, 700 - 1000 meters in altitude. The vineyards and forests around Cochem offer many beautiful views and picnic spots. Susanne will tune the hike to suit the participants.
At 5 pm there will be an optional wine-tasting at Weinhaus Hieronimi (hieronimi-wein.de), lasting about 90 minutes, with 8 different wines. A non-alcoholic version is also available. Snacks can be purchased. This will be followed by an optional dinner in Cochem.
After breakfast on Sunday, we explore the beautiful area of the Moselle valley again. This time it will be a shorter and less strenuous than on Saturday. Depending on the planned return journey, we will plan a tour that takes 3-4 hours and may end with a refreshment stop.
You should be sure-footed and in good physical condition for the hikes. The walking speed will be around 4 kph, with plenty of breaks to drink and take photos.
In case of very bad weather we will explore short-notice alternatives like visiting the Bundesbank (secret) Bunker in Cochem – this is also an option in case your hiking mood is exhausted over the weekend.
