The Resort

One cable car, and everything changes. The Gemsstock lift carries you to almost 3,000 m, and from up there it is 1,500 vertical metres back down to Andermatt with the Gotthard massif spread out in every direction. This is the mountain that made the name: steep, serious, and generous with snow from November right through to May. Cross the valley and the Oberalp Pass towards Sedrun is a completely different day out, wide open and lined with sun terraces. Add Disentis and you have 180 km and 33 lifts on a single pass. Two nights, two entirely different mountains.

Lodging & Après-Ski

You will not need a shuttle, a taxi or a plan. The Hotel Piz Badus is a three-minute walk from the gondola, and offers you a wonderful breakfast buffet included served with mountain views in every direction from the top-floor breakfast room. Which is a dangerous way to start a morning, because now you want to ski all of them. Roll out, walk over, ride up.
